Mission
The improvement of the health of women throughout the world by preventing
and treating cervical cancer.
Vision
To achieve an immediate impact in women’s healthcare by creating
sustainable programs to reduce the death rate from cervical cancer through
education, prevention, early detection and treatment. We are dedicated
to the elimination of social, economic and cultural barriers to women’s
healthcare. Improving the health of women will also advance the welfare
of children, the family, the community and the nation.
Summary
Medicine for Humanity (MFH) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
committed to an immediate and significant reduction in the death rate
from women’s
cancers throughout the world. Our organization provides on-site teaching
by outstanding clinicians, educational resources, telemedicine applications
and assistance in developing sustainable programs to address every aspect
of women’s cancer care: prevention, early detection, treatment and
the complete physical and emotional care of the cancer patient. Since 1995,
Medicine for Humanity’s main efforts have been in cervical cancer
control programs for countries around the world and Native American and
underserved populations in the United States.
Medicine
for Humanity has extensive experience in evaluating and developing
oncology services for populations throughout the world, and provides
a
unique association of clinicians from the leading medical institutions
in the United States. Medicine for Humanity, in collaboration with
telemedicine experts in the United States, is well equipped to design
and implement
a comprehensive cervical cancer control program that is greatly needed
throughout the world.
The staff of Medicine for Humanity consists of world-renowned cancer
specialists who provide patients the finest cancer treatment. Our volunteer
clinical
faculty includes over 120 gynecologic oncologis ts (only 700 in the
United States), as well as surgical, medical and radiation oncologists.
Our physicians
are skilled in clinical research as well as in the design and implementation
of clinical trials. This mechanism can bring the latest cancer care
to women who would otherwise have no hope of cure.
Medicine
for Humanity’s goal is to provide education and training
for the next generation of cancer care professionals, who are preparing
to provide care for their own patients. The development and integration
of medicine and telecommunications are the key components to the comprehensive
health plan outlined in this proposal. In addition to providing cost-effective
screening, prevention, and treatment solutions, implementation of the
MFH telemedicine network will ensure the rapid delivery of high quality
medical
services and the dissemination of medical information and education to
the host-country. The impact of the high-quality healthcare assistance
delivered by MFH to the hostcountry will be immediate and dramatic. The
goal of MFH is to establish in the hostcountry a sustainable self-sufficient
program that would be facilitated by telemedicine for the comprehensive
local management of patients with cervical cancer.
The tax ID for Medicine for Humanity is 88-0364635.
