About Dr. Keefe

Kristin A. Keefe, M.D. is passionate about women's health. Dr. Keefe is a graduate of Bowdoin College and Dartmouth Medical School. She performed her integrated four-year OB-GYN residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. Next followed a four-year gynecologic oncology fellowship at the University of California at Irvine under the mentorship of Dr. Philip DiSaia and Dr. Michael Berman. Presently she is affilated with Brigham and Women’s and Faulkner Hospitals as well as the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, all located in Boston.

Photo of Dr. Kristin A. KeefeDr. Keefe teaches obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive biology at Harvard Medical School. She is also an assistant professor in gynecologic oncology at Brigham and Women’s and Faulkner Hospitals. Active research areas include women with abnormal pap smears; preventative medicine; integrative care; and improving the quality of life for women with cancer and other gynecological issues.

Dr. Keefe is active in the nonprofit community. She is a member of the executive council of Medicine for Humanity, an international group of surgeons dedicated to improving the lives of women in many areas of the developing world. She has worked in Africa and Asia under the direction of Dr. Clifford R. Wheeless, Jr., operating on women with fistulas from obstetrical trauma. Dr. Keefe is also a member of the Professional Advisory Board of the Wellness Community Greater Boston.

Dr. Keefe was recently featured in the documentary film “The Pursuit of Pleasure,” written and directed by Maryanne Galvin. The film has won awards at the Rhode Island Film Festival and the Boston International Film Festival.

“My goal is to deliver comprehensive, integrative health care, with the underlying aim of always improving the quality of life of every woman I care for and her family, and thinking globally about women’s health in order to prevent other diseases or conditions from developing.”

Dr. Keefe is dedicated to mentoring physicians at other hospitals, both in and out of the OR. She currently holds privileges at the above-named hospitals as well as Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, and South Shore Hospital in South Weymouth.
